My Dog Chloe

A 2007 LA Shorts Fest Selection REVIEW: “In one of the most heartfelt and emotional pieces of the afternoon, My Dog Chloe deals with the passing of a man’s beloved friend Chloe. Shot days after Mendelson was forced to put his ailing dog to sleep, we get the potent raw emotions, draped in personal testimony and memorable photographic stills. We immediately feel the loss of Chloe and are reminded of the strong emotional bonds between pet owners and their pets.” — Indie Express

  • I’m sorry for your loss.thanks for the video. My dog passed away today he
was with us for 14 years.. he was a great dog and was very loved, he was a
family member and I know he will be very missed. I loved him very much and
will always remember the great time we had together. It’s so hard to lose
such a close friend. But I’m glad that the pain and suffering that comes
with old age is now over for him and that he will have a chance to rest.
You’ll always be remembered and loved rest in peace Keeper.

  • I know exactly how you feel. A couple of months ago my dog Oscar died
unexpectedly, we knew he was sick but we thought he going to be okay and we
were going to take him to the vet the next day, but when we woke up, he was
gone. It was very sad and tragic and I miss him everyday of my life. We got
him in 2007 when I was just 4 years old yet he was so gentle and good with
me and little kids. I grew up with him. And he watched me grow up. I Miss
him terribly each day more and more. He wasn’t just a Pet, he was my best
friend and family. Everyday I had with him was a blessing. I Remember the
last day I had with him I stroked his head and said “goodnight Oscar feel
better”. And that was it. RIP OSCAR I WILL MISS YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS YOU
WERE SUCH A GENTLE GIANT AND MY TEDDY BEAR!!!!!! RIP 2007-2014.

  • In sorry to hear this said news I almost cry because it made me think of my
now deceased dog Kooper when he passed at the beginning of this school year
on the first day of school and your dog looked so sweet but you put her our
of her misery of not being able to eat and we had to put my old dog to
sleep because he was so old but great video that will make Chloe very happy
that you loved her so much

  • For all of you that have lost a pet….You will be reunited with them
someday! If you think God would not let animals in Heave read Jeremiah
32:27 “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

  • awww Chloe looks so precious.I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank You for
sharing your story. I understand feeling the loss of your dog is not
fair. I felt it too. Chloes eyes look like my dogs eyes when she was
looking up and I have kept a red harness just like that one that
was Chloe’s for my Stumpy . Hold onto that memory of how Chloe is so
fortunate you kept her that day as are you to of had Chloe. I bet ppl would
love to watch videos of you talking about special memories with Chloe. It
is good to talk about our lost pets and keep them alive in some way.. maybe
I will make a video like you did. We all need each other to heal. We don’t
have to do this alone. We often do but we don’t have to.

I lost my best friend in this picture with me on August 26th and it was
the most devastating thing in my life. t is important to feel the pain of
the loss. We all must grieve. it is ok to be sad over losing a beloved pal.
I am not here to say words to heal ones pain because I cant . all I can do
is listen and care BUT when I felt so heart broken one thing that brought
me comfort was this. Of all the people who my dog could of raised my dog I
am glad it was me because he never knew anything but love. Even if some who
read this post didn’t have their pet from birth maybe you rescued your dog,
you r dog ended his. her life with love

  • Thank you very much for making this video and sharing. I lost my akita
Tenshi just over a month ago. I miss him so much. I keep his harness on my
bed post. After you shook Chloe’s, I shook Tenshi’s. It dosen’t sound the
same. He would shake and jingle to get your attention when he entered the
room, If he wasn’t wearing his “clothes”, he would blow air through his
    nose.

  • Thank you so much for this video.
I was really touched by your love for Chloe. We had to put our dog Nelly, a
shepherd mix(age 16.5) down on May 31,2014. I know the pain the sorrow and
the void left after they’re gone. They are the only creatures that love us
unconditionally. RIP NELLY: LOYAL & LOVING SOUL. I can’t stop crying..

  • Thank you for posting this. You describe almost exactly what my dog was
going through. I put my best friend down three weeks ago. The guilt of
“maybe” doing it to early has over whelmed me. Since that day I tend to
forget why I made this decision to put my 13.5 year PYR to rest I have felt
huge guilt…I need but can’t get over the guilt that some of that
heartless selfish decision was made because the incontinence, puking and
lack of energy he had would interfere and make me look bad for keeping him
going. I didn’t want people to think I was cruel so I put mine down before
my friends and family saw his state. Now I have big regrets. After seeing
this I feel a tad better that I did the right thing. If I could turn back
the clock I would out of selfishness make mine suffer one more day just so
I could snuggle him one more time. Hate myself and hoping the day comes
when I feel happy for the time I had and the time that I had, and the day I
had to make the decision to let mine go before he hurt more than he was.
Yes this day sucks and it was on my mind the day I took in my bestus friend
into my home. My biggest regret was knowing from the first day this day was
most likely gonna happen. I want those days back now.

  • Other than losing a child the loss of a pet is the worst thing that can
    happen
to someone. For all those who grieve from the loss of a pet there is the
possibility that you will be reunited someday.
I am not alone in thinking they will be in Heaven. Billy Graham thinks so
    too!
Question is will you be there?

  • i lost my old boy yesterday. :'(. 11 years of agility and running marathons with me, then yesterday morning he was happily trotting around on the lead helping me with the horse, and in the afternoon he collapsed. after 2 hours at the emergency vet he was unresponsive and on a ventilator. he hung on all night, but in the morning we realised that he was not going to come back. we let him go peacefully, and i haven’t stopped crying since. vet thinks a brain tumour, it doesnt change the pain. RIP JJ

  • I had to put my Tash down two mths ago feb 18th. She was 15yrs old, and she was my heart. She chose me as most any animals do. I knew Tash was ill, and took her to the vet since she couldn’t hold her bladder, and couldn’t get enough water. I knew something was wrong. I took her to the vet on Fri and waited until that Mon when the vet called and told me what I already suspected that Tash was going to have to be put down. I still cry over Tash. She was my baby.

  • [..YouTube..] It was really sad. My terrier girl was put to sleep few mths ago. My tears couldnt stop even till today. Grew up with me giving me all her silence support, giving me lots of courage to face life. That very day, she in my arms, i cried very very hard. I kiss smell all over her saying my love saying my sorry. They are not jus a dog, they have bcome part of our very self, a one that we cant afford to lost n when lost, we lost ourselves too. If there is a path that wil lead me to her side,i wil walk

  • [..YouTube..] My Teddy bear Chloe, I had gotten her in Sese, 20 2010. The next year in September
3 she got sick.she wouldn’t eat drink or walk.she would alwasy make in pane noises.
She pooped blood. But we didn’t know what she had
. Her insides seemed to be melted down. The last neath she had was when I was petting her.

  • @sirhood2 It’s been four years since we lost Chloe, and I still miss her very much. It took awhile, but the pain did eventually subside. What remains are the memories of the wondeful times she shared with us — memories that will last forever. When we reminisce about her, we smile. About a year after Chloe died, we went to the animal shelter and adopted a great little dog named Spencer. Spencer will never replace Chloe, but he has added a lot of joy to our lives. — Braddon
